a bit about me:
Matthew Cyphert (baritone) is a vocalist and teacher of vocal arts working in the greater Pittsburgh area, currently teaching private voice from his studio in Homer City, PA. Before opening his studio in Homer City, Matthew served as a Doctoral Teaching Assistant for the Vocal Division at West Virginia University from 2019 to 2021, and as an Adjunct Lecturer of Voice and Aural Theory in the School of Music at WVU from 2018-2019. Matthew can be found performing as a recitalist, orchestral soloist, and operatic/oratorio soloist across North America. As a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Matthew takes great pride in his teaching career and his students. Mr. Cyphert received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Vocal Performance with a Piano Minor from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Music in Vocal Performance degree from Kansas State University, and has completed coursework toward the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at West Virginia University and is currently completing the dissertation research and writing component of the program.
